PHILCAMSAT hosts successful Open Safety Forum 2024 in collaboration with Coral Shipping Corp
PHILCAMSAT successfully hosted the Open Safety Forum 2024 in collaboration with Coral Shipping Corp (J-PHIL MARINE, INC.) from April 8 to April 12, 2024. The event brought together PHILCAMSAT and PTC subject experts, maritime professionals, and stakeholders to discuss important topics shaping the maritime sector’s shipping operations. The goal was to ensure safe, secure, environmentally sound, efficient, and sustainable shipping through cooperation.
Key topics covered during the five-day program included Human Factors in Maritime Safety, Safety Culture and Leadership, Maritime Just Transition, Navigating Careers in the Maritime Industry, Financial Literacy, Safety Management System, Maritime Cybersecurity Awareness, Mental Health Wellbeing in the Maritime Industry, and Nutrition and Fitness Wellbeing in the Maritime Industry.
Experts such as Capt. Quentin Cox and Capt. Alex Labor led discussions on Human Factors in Maritime Safety, while C/E Alfredo Haboc focused on Safety Culture and Leadership and Navigating Careers in the Maritime Industry. Capt. Pol Haboc addressed Maritime Just Transition, and C/E Eric discussed Maritime Cybersecurity Awareness. All discussions were based on the Company Safety Management System policy and procedures.
The forum also included sessions on financial literacy, mental health, and nutrition and fitness led by industry specialists like Dr. Margot Carreon. Participants gained valuable insights into fostering a culture of well-being and resilience among maritime personnel.
