Simulation Center
PHILCAMSAT has invested heavily in faculty training and development, as well as, in the most modern of equipment to provide world-class training amid an authentic learning climate. Headquartered in the central business district of Makati City, the Center offers state-of-the-art facilities and cutting edge technology to mimic the environment onboard.
It is the first training center in the Philippines to have acquired a Kongsberg Norcontrol Polaris Full Mission Ship Bridge Simulator, an Engine Room Simulator Plant Propulsion Trainer, and a Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator. It is also the first training center to utilize touchsensitive multi-flex panels for bridge simulation.
The Center’s specialized equipment includes High Voltage Switchgear, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics, Electro-Mechanical Lab-Volt with PLC, GMDSS and ECDIS simulators. Currently, PHILCAMSAT has four (4) independent ship bridge simulators, two of which can be integrated with two Full Mission Engine Simulators (one hardware-equipped and one touch screen) to provide a total simulation training environment.

Industry-academic Linkage
Industry-academic linkage remain a strong supplement to the Center’s training programs.
In 2008, a partnership with the country’s premier engineering academic institution, Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL), resulted in the creation of the Mapúa-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training (CMET).
This key strategic initiative has produced a supply of well-trained, technically-oriented cadet officers equipped with a solid conceptual background in Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering, and advanced hands-on training and instructions to meet industry standards of competence.
